Milestones

East Asia Trading Company founded in Karachi, Pakistan by the Piracha family. Begins global trading in agricultural and industrial commodities.

1952

YS Piracha joins the business at age 12 working summers. Begins international trading by 18.

1978

MS Piracha passes away. Trading operations pause while YS completes university.

1988

YS graduates from York University and trains in accounting and finance at Coopers & Lybrand. Relaunches the family’s specialty crop and metals trading operations.

1990–1994

Operations expand to Glendive, Montana. ITC International Inc. and Imperial Trading Corp. are established, building a presence in specialty crops and steel.

1996–2016

Expansion into Industrial Hemp begins. YS Piracha, Tom Ziegler, Dave & Shane Clark, and Carl Martel develop proprietary hemp processing technology and products.

2017

5,500 acres of hemp are harvested. Full-scale production is launched at the Montana campus.

2019

Plans are paused due to the global pandemic.

2020

YS Piracha establishes American Harvest Group Inc. (AHGI) to acquire global assets in special crops, plant proteins, Natural foods, Supplements, Bio-Pharma and industrial hemp.

2022

AHGI signs definitive agreements to acquire multiple plants.

2025
